Fire in Bargou destroys over 20ha since Monday

Civil protection units are pursuing efforts for the second day to put out the fires that have erupted in several places in Bargou’s forest area (Siliana governorate).

These fires that broke out Monday have destroyed, so far, some 20 hectares of forest areas in Drija, Sidi Said and Ain Zitoune localities (Bargou delegation).

The wind-blown flames quickly spread from Drija locality to Sidi Said locality though they were brought under control in Ain Zitoune, Bargou Delegate Ahmed Tlili Khadhraoui said.

According to the same source, all human and material resources have been mobilised.

Civil Protection units in Bargou backed by firefighters from Makther, Oueslatia and Zaghouan in addition to teams of the Regional Agricultural Development Commission and the Directorate of Forestry are working on putting out the fire in these regions since Monday.
