Tunisian pharmaceutical group Ferimex International wants to supply Libyan market with medicines

The Tunisian group Ferimex International, active in the pharmaceutical industries, announced its participation in an international tender launched by Libya to supply the Libyan market for medicines in the next three years, as part of a market of 500 million dollars (equivalent to 1.211 million dinars – MD), Abdallah Ferchichi, chairman of the group told TAP on Monday.

He added that the participation of this group of Tunisian companies in this market, which was opened on August 20 and will run until September 17, aims to “supply this sister country with specific and generic medicines and equipment and apparatus for laboratories.

The companies participating in this offer must register, in advance with the Libyan Ministry of Health, Ferchichi said, stressing that several international companies are participating in this call for tenders.

“The Tunisian pharmaceutical group is keen to get a part of this market,” said the official, recalling that the sector of the pharmaceutical industries in Tunisia has registered a 164% evolution in the last five years and an annual increase of added value of around 25%.

“The development of medicine exports will make it possible to create new jobs, especially for graduates of higher education, given that 40% of jobs created by this sector are destined for graduates,” he said.
