Deputy Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Bouali Mbarki said “despite the legitimate demands of job-seekers in the Gafsa region, the UGTT is opposed to any blocking of the functioning of the Gafsa Phosphate Company (CPG) and calls for the resumption of work in units of the company that employs thousands of people.
Speaking at the opening of the regional administrative committee of the regional labour union (URT), Bouali Mbarki said the country, in general, and the region in particular, are going through a critical situation.
There is no magic wand to resolve all the development problems, he said.
However, the government is called to set priorities, develop a clear vision and implement the recently announced decisions, he underlined, adding that urgent solutions must be found to end the stalling public service, in allusion to CPG which, according to him, could not replace the state in resolving the problems of jobless people.
