Three dozen injured when flight to Hawaii hits severe turbulence

Air quality plummets in Indian capital as temperature falls

Air pollution worsened in New Delhi on Monday to the “very poor” category after a few days of clear skies, as lower temperatures and calmer winds trapped pollutants.   The Indian capital’s pollution causes illnesses such as asthma and other respiratory problems every winter as the heavy air does not let vehicular emissions, construction dust and farm-fire residues disperse easily.


Russian attacks hit ‘critical infrastructure’ in and around Kyiv – Ukrainian authorities

Russia’s latest attacks hit “critical infrastructure” in and around Kyiv early on Monday, Ukrainian authorities said, adding air defence systems destroyed about 15 of the 20 drones directed at the capital.   Kyiv’s mayor said preliminary information suggested there were no deaths or injuries from the attack on the capital, and medics were working at the sites of the strikes


Olive harvest estimated at over 28 thousand tonnes in Siliana

The olive harvest season is ongoing in the siliana governorate where it has reached a progress rate of 37% with a total estimated at 10.647 thousand tonnes of olives, head of the fruit trees department at the Local Authority of Agricultural Development Khaled Badreddine said.   The current season’s harvest is estimated at 28.510 thousand tonnes of olives, i.e. 5.700
