2024 National Farmers’ Day to Spotlight Climate-Resilient Agriculture

Accra: The 2024 National Farmers' Day celebration, scheduled for November 8 in the Greater Accra Region, will focus on Ghana's commitment to climate-resilient agricultural practices. Marking its 40th edition, the event is themed 'Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Food Security' and will culminate in a National Awards Night Ceremony. According to Ghana News Agency, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will recognize outstanding farmers across 16 categories, including Overall National Best Farmer, National Best Livestock Farmer, National Best Female Farmer, and National Best Physically Challenged Farmer. The celebrations will also feature Agrifest Ghana 2024, a five-day National Agricultural Fair from November 4 to 8, highlighting Ghana's agricultural heritage and fostering knowledge sharing among farmers and stakeholders. The Ministry of Food and Agriculture emphasized that the event aims to promote dialogue and encourage the adoption of best practices to combat environmental changes.
