3 ha of orange trees destroyed by fire in Menzel Bouzelfa

A fire broke out Thursday in Menzel Bouzelfa over a 10 hectare-agricultural area.

The flames destroyed 3 hectares of orange trees before being controlled after three hours, Delegate of Menzel Bouzelfa Nazih Toumi told TAP.

The fire that spread to several areas, made it difficult for local structures to intervene so reinforcements from the civil protection were dispatched from all over the region of Nabeul.

The causes of the fire are still unknown, the same source specified, adding that drought and dead grass had fueled the fire.
