31st EBRD General Meeting Wraps Up in Marrakech

Placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the two-day event brought together representatives of the Bank’s 73 countries and institutional shareholders, including Morocco. It was an opportunity to discuss global challenges such as support for economic growth, the fight against climate change and the reinforcement of the business environment in the areas where the Bank invests.

Held in a particular context marked by the adverse impact of the health crisis on global growth combined with a conflict between Russia and Ukraine that weighs heavily on the prospects for economic recovery, the meeting provided an opportunity for fruitful exchanges and discussions on the EBRD’s current and future directions and its approach to supporting member countries in a turbulent environment.

This edition shed light on the progress made by the Kingdom in various areas, which earned the country a special position in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region.

Morocco’s expertise in the field of renewable energy was also highlighted during this Assembly, which paid particular attention to climate issues and green transition, as evidenced by the level of financing mobilized by the EBRD to address the effects of climate change in all its countries of operation.
