Absence of up-to-date economic information for commercial attache abroad

The lack of timely and up-to-date information on quantities of Tunisian products for export is the main obstacle to the work of the commercial attache abroad, to find new markets and promote investment said, Wednesday in Tunis, Secretary of State for Trade Adellatif Hmam.

Speaking at the meeting of the economic attaches and commercial advisers to the Diplomatic and Consular Missions Accredited Abroad, Hmam stressed the imperative to make the inventory of the Tunisian goods destined for export, while informing the commercial attache to Foreign data and statistics so that it can negotiate effectively, when exploring export markets.

In this respect, he encouraged the various professional groups to better communicate with the economic and commercial attaches abroad, by providing them with the necessary data on their sectors of activity.

The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Sabri Bachtobji stressed the importance of creating coordination structures to forge links between the economic attache, the various stakeholders and the relevant ministries, in order to provide the right and effective conditions for collective work and to avoid the waste of money and effort, when organising Tunisia’s participation in events abroad.
