Ada East, West Districts Receive Over GHS4.7 Million in DACF First-Quarter Allocations

Ada east: The Ada East and Ada West District Assemblies have received a total of GHS4,565,162.79 as their share of the first-quarter 2025 District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) allocations.

According to Ghana News Agency, Ada East District was allocated GHS2,171,919.36 for general assembly operations, with an additional GHS97,022.61 earmarked for the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Fund.

Ada West District, on the other hand, received GHS2,393,243.13 for developmental projects and GHS125,909.69 for PWD support programmes, bringing its total to GHS2,519,152.82 - slightly higher than that of Ada East.

The DACF, established under the District Assemblies Common Fund Act, 1993 (Act 455), provides financial support to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to drive grassroots development. Allocations are made in quarterly instalments and distributed according to a formula approved by Parliament.

Local government authorities in Ada East and Ada West have been urged to ensure transparent utilisation of the funds by prioritising essential infrastructure, education, health, and livelihood initiatives for PWDs.

The total DACF disbursement for the Greater Accra Region for the first quarter stood at GHS129.52 million for MMDAs, with an additional GHS2.40 million allocated to support PWDs.
