Tunisia’s national soccer team defeated their Libyan counterpart (3-0), at an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023) Group J day-3 game played Friday night at the Hamadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades.
The goals were scored by Youssef Msakni (12′), Ali Maaloul (21′ pen.) and Haythem Jouini (86′).
In the other match of the group, Equatorial Guinea defeated Botswana 2-0.
With this win, Tunisia top their group’s rankings with 7 points ahead of Equatorial Guinea (6 points) and Libya (3 points). Botswana are fourth with a single point.
Tunisia will travel to Benghazi to play Libya again at day 4 next Tuesday.
Top two finishers in each group will qualify for the AFCON to be hosted by Côte d’Ivoire in January 2024.
