AfDB plans to finance series of agricultural projects in 2018

The African Development Bank (AfDB) plans to finance a series of agricultural projects in Tunisia in 2018, including that of inclusive agricultural development in Zaghouan and the implementation of a study on the evaluation chain of olive oil, reads a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, published Tuesday.

These commitments were made at a working session held Tuesday in Tunis by Agriculture Minister Samir Taieb with a delegation from the AfDB to discuss ways to develop relations, in view of the financing projects presented by the Tunisian government.

The Agriculture Department said the AfDB has granted Tunisia a total sum of 1,450 million dinars in 2017 to develop the water sector.

Similarly, the financial institution is currently funding six projects in Tunisia in the area of water supply capacity-building and five specialised studies.

The Minister of Agriculture reviewed, on this occasion, the incentives adopted by Tunisia in the field of agricultural investment and those included in the investment law, which came into force in April 2017.
