“African Continent, land of promising prospects and opportunities” (Youssef Chahed)

Prime Minister Youssef Chahed said Tuesday in a recorded address broadcast at the opening of the African Economic Forum that all the demographic, economic and financial indicators confirm that the African Continent is a land of promising prospects and opportunities.

He pointed out that the African Economic Forum is an important opportunity for fostering economic partnership between African governments and between the public and private sectors, investors, civil society organisations and the components of alternative economy.

Chahed pointed out that Tunisia is endeavouring to eradicate poverty and combat unemployment and social inequality and is also called upon to boost sustainable development.

The PM who is on a working visit to Benelux, affirmed that Tunisia is keen to join all efforts and energy for the success of this forum.

The latter records the participation of 38 African countries and 140 senior officials representing the public and private sectors as well as donors and businessmen.

Some 800 participants are expected at this two-day event. They will take part in sectoral workshops on building and public works in Africa, modern technology, health in Africa, higher education, employment, technologies and sustainable development.
