Tunisian Koussay Ben Ghares on Saturday won the gold medal of the U100kg category at the African judo championships, organised in Algeria’s Oran.

His compatriots Sarra Mzoughi snatched the gold medal of the U78kg category and Wahib Hdiouech the +100kg silver.

At the end of these championships, Tunisia bagged 9 medals (3 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze), taking the 2nd spot in the medal count behind Algeria

(7 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze) and ahead of Morocco (1 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze).
