Tunisia national women’s handball team finished third at the African Women’s Handball Championship (Cameroon 2021), after defeating Congo’s 22-17 at a placement match played Friday in Yaoundé.
The national women’s team were eliminated in the semi-finals Wednesday after losing to Angola’s (23-27 aet), while Congo were beaten by Cameroon (21-22).
This is the third time the women’s handball team finish in third place in the African competition after the 2000 and 2002 edition, while it bagged the championship three times (1974, 1976 and 2014) and finished second in 1981, 2006, 2010, 2012 and 2016.
The four semi-finalists have booked their ticket for the World Cup Championship-2021 scheduled from December 2 to 19 in Spain.
