Aggression of two police officers: Chahed orders initiation of investigation into leaked video of interrogation

Prime Minister Youssef Chahed ordered the Interior Minister to initiate an administrative investigation to reveal the identities of the sides who leaked a video about the interrogation of the Bardo attacker.

A source from the Prime Ministry told TAP on Thursday that Youssef Chahed had asked the interior minister to determine responsibilities in this case.

Several websites have relayed a video illustrating part of the interrogation of the so-called Zied Ben Salem Gharbi who attacked Wednesday two traffic police officers with a knife. He stabbed Commander Riadh Barrouta around his neck and wounded Captain Mohamed Aidi at the front.

The prosecutor’s office on Wednesday ordered the detainee to be held in police custody and handed over to the national crime investigation unit in El Gorjani.

Born in 1992, the aggressor has no criminal record, says the spokesperson for the Judicial Counter-Terrorism Centre SofiAne Selliti. He admitted to having adopted takfiri thinking for three years and that he was preparing to join terrorist groups in Libya.
