financing agreement aimed to support the Alpine goat breeding sector in the region of Oued Zen (delegation of Ain Drahem) was inked between the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS), the US Agency for International Development (USAID) funded program “Tunisia Jobs” and the Group of Breeders of Tarentaise Cattle (GERT) in Ain Drahem.
Under this agreement, sixty farmers will be supported through donations from Tunisia Jobs up to 50% of the cost of the project and the remainder in the form of investment premiums and bank credits from BTS Bank, according to a Tunisia Jobs press release.
These farmers received training for this kind of breeding provided by experts from the GERT group.
Through this agreement, the BTS seeks to foster partnership and open up cooperation with international organisations such as USAID.
