Kumasi: The Agyeman-Rawlings family, led by former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, visited Kumasi to participate in the Dote Yie funeral rites for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III. The family’s visit took place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, as they joined in mourning the loss of the revered Asantehemaa.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from the Office of former President Jerry John Rawlings detailed that Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was accompanied by her two adult children, Madam Amina Agyeman-Rawlings and Mr. Kimathi Agyeman-Rawlings. The three family members took turns consoling Otumfuo Osei Tutu, expressing their sympathies on the passing of the Asantehemaa.
The connection between the Agyeman-Rawlings family and the Asantehene is familial, as Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is a cousin to Otumfuo Osei Tutu. This relationship also makes her children nieces and nephews of the King, deepening the personal nature of their condolences during this period of mourning.
