Ahafo: The Ahafo Regional Office of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has trained 200 newly recruited police personnel on road traffic regulations to empower them to enforce law safety laws to bring sanity on the highways. Under the 'Stay Alive' campaign of the Authority, the training was held at the Kenyasi Police Training School in the region as part of the Authority's activities lined up for the first half of 2025.

According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Indira Apronti, the Ahafo Regional Head of NRSA, mentioned on the sidelines of the training that it was also in line with a wider collaboration between the Authority and the police. She said the Authority in the region had intensified road safety education in some basic schools on the potential of regularizing tricycle operations and other safety measures and regulations, reaching out to more than 222 teachers and 2,056 pupils.

Mad Apronti further stated that safety education and pre-departure vehicle checks had also been upscaled at lorry terminals. She highlighted that the region recorded 75 road crashes between January and June 2025, compared to the 58 crashes recorded in the previous year.
