(TAP) – It is important to boost confidence in Tunisia as an investment site so that it can become once again a a hub of foreign investments, the Tunisian-German Chamber of Industry and commerce (AHK Tunisia) said.

Security and visibility are necessary for economic activity, growth and investment, reads a press release reads.

A clear roadmap, a successful communication and a properly functioning administration make a significant contribution, AHK Tunisia added.

German enterprises in Tunisia are operating as usual and in a peaceful environment one week after President Saied’s announcements.

Investors and parent companies are closely monitoring developments with the hope to see necessary economic reforms undertaken.

The epidemiological situation, the fight against COVID-19 and associated restrictions are the major challenges facing German enterprises based in Tunisia, further reads the press release.

AHK Tunisia, which has been operating for over 40 years now, seeks to promote Tunisian-German economic relations and supports its 850 members in their international activity.

These enterprises (with German participation) generate over 70,000 direct jobs and tens of thousands of indirect jobs in Tunisia.
