AHK Tunisia, Smart Tunisia project sign partnership and co-operation agreement

The Tunisian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Tunisia) and the “Smart Tunisia” project, on Tuesday, signed a co-operation and partnership agreement at the El Ghazela Technopark.

The agreement seeks to strengthen the integration of young people in the labour market and to support employment in promising, innovative and high-tech sectors, within the framework of programmes of the Career Guidance and Professional Retraining Centre.

The Smart Tunisia project, which was launched in 2015, is one of the components of the national strategy Tunisia Digital 2020 and is part of the export service development. It aims to create 50 thousand jobs for university graduates over the upcoming five years, said Anouar Maarouf, Minister of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy.

During the event, 20 trainees from the first graduating class of the centre were presented with their vocational retraining diplomas, after having received training thanks to which they managed to find jobs with the help of experts and specialists in the economic, social integration and professional fields.

The Centre of Career Guidance and Professional Retraining has trained more than 1,605 young job seekers from its creation in September 2015 until February 28, 2017. Of these, 145 have been retrained in accordance with the needs of the labour market.
