Ala Eddine Slim’s “the Last of Us” awarded best fiction feature film at 15th African Film Festival in Apt region

Tunisian filmmaker Ala Eddine Slim’s The Last of Us was awarded best fiction feature film at the 15th African Film Festival in the region of Apt (FCAPA), organised on November 10-17.

The Tunisian cinema was present at this edition with eight films in three categories.

Kaouther Ben Hania’s the Beauty and the Dogs, Walid Mattar’s Northern wind and Ala Eddine Slim’s The Last of Us, a film chosen by the National Centre for Cinema and Image (CNCI) to represent Tunisia in the 90th Academy Awards (March 8 in Los Angeles), competed among 17 other films in the feature film category.

Kaouther Ben Hania’s Zaineb hates the Snow was the only Tunisian film selected to compete in the fiction feature films category.

In the short films category, the Tunisian cinema took part with four films, namely Ismail Bahri’s Foyer, Doria Achour’s the rest is the work of man, Moufida Fedhila’s Aya and Jamil Najjar’s Stuck.
