250 thousand COVID-19 vaccines and medical equipment will be delivered, Tuesday by plane, by Algeria to Tunisia.
This aid, which aims to support Tunisia’s efforts to stem the pandemic, was announced by Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune during a phone talk held Monday with President Kais Saied.
On this occasion, Tebboune highlighted Algeria’s position to stand by Tunisia in its fight against COVID-19 and its readiness to provide the necessary equipment, a Presidency of the Republic press release reads.
For his part, Saied commended Algeria’s initiative in these exceptional circumstances, affirming the strong relations between both people and countries.
The Presidency of the Republic had previously announced that Tunisia will receive aid from different countries, including 500 thousand COVID-19 shots from the United States of America and further 500 thousand shots from the United Arab Emirates.
