Tourism projects were inaugurated Sunday in Tataouine on the Saharan Tourism Promotion Day, observed this year in “Ain El Kordi” village, about 10km from Remada, under chairmanship of Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Moez Belhassine.
These projects consist notably in a new guest house in the Douiret Berber village and a 194km-walking trail between Matmata (Gabes) and Douiret (Tataouine).
This trail, the first of its kind in Tunisia which was designed by Tunisian and foreign experts, will be a destination for both Tunisian and foreign tourists notably hiking and adventure enthusiasts, President of the Authentic Tourism Federation Dahar Destination Mohamed Sadok Dabbabi stated to TAP.
In the Tounket delegation in South Tataouine, the Tourism minister inaugurated an 8-bed rural gîte.
The latter which costed 80 thousand dinars, will help visitors discover numerous archeological sites testifying to the depth of the history and civilizations that the region has undergone, project promoter Saad Zaraqa said.
Moez Belhassine pointed out for his part, that this project falls within the department’s new orientation in the alternative and sustainable tourism field is entitled to incentives and subsidies authorised by the Investment Code, in addition to support for its promotion through e-platforms and the FTADD’s support.
