Esperance Sportive de Tunis lost to Zamalek of Egypt 28-34 at a day-1 game of Group A of the Arab Handball Club Championship, played Saturday in Hammamet.
In the other match of the group, Kuwait of Kuwait beat MS Alger 35-34 on the same floor.
The other Tunisian representative Club Africain defeated Algeria’s ES Skikda after the latter forfeited (10-0).
All clubs in the competition qualify for the quarterfinals. The top of group A will play the 4th of group B and the 2nd will play the 3rd.
The tournament is a qualifier for the super globe
