Ariana, Tunisia – The Ariana Electoral Sub-Commission (IRIE) has announced the receipt of 195 candidacy applications for the upcoming municipal elections as of Sunday at 2 p.m. This includes a mix of direct candidacies and nominations by lot for individuals with disabilities.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, the submissions comprise 173 direct candidacies and 22 by lot. A peak in nominations was observed on Monday, October 30, the eighth day of the nomination period, with 49 applications received on that day alone.

The commission also reported that all 48 electoral districts in the Ariana governorate have been covered by these applications, ensuring full participation in the upcoming local elections. This includes both direct nominations and those by lot, indicating a broad engagement across the governorate.
