Armed individual arrested near border with Libya

A military patrol deployed near the border crossing point Ras Jedir, arrested early on Friday, a 19-year-old armed individual with a Libyan passport. He had crossed the Tunisian-Libyan border illegally.

In a statement, the Ministry of Defense said that the sea army in El Ketef intercepted a person trying to enter the Tunisian territory through the sand barrier near the Ras Jedir post.

The army members searched his backpack which contained a Kalashnikov, a magazine with 18 7.62 caliber cartridges, a bandage, a bottle of medical alcohol, a mini hacksaw, food, clothes, two mobile phones, a digital tablet and an amount of 1,810 Libyan dinars.
