Kpetoe: The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on Ghanaians, particularly the youth, to exercise patience as the government addresses the country’s pressing economic and social challenges. He emphasized that these issues, inherited by the current administration, require time and consistent efforts to resolve.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Asiedu Nketia made these remarks during his Thank You Tour at Kpetoe in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region. He highlighted that the government is committed to creating sustainable jobs through initiatives like the National Apprenticeship Programme, Nkukonkitikiti Programme, Adwumawura Programme, and other interventions aimed at empowering the youth with skills and employment opportunities.
The NDC Chairman acknowledged the dedication of the party’s branch and constituency executives and encouraged them to continue supporting the government. He also urged young people to seize recruitment opportunities in sectors such as the military.
Member of Parliament for Agortime-Ziope, Mr. Charles Agbeve, expressed gratitude for the inclusion of his constituency in the tour and assured that significant transformations in infrastructure, education, health, and the local economy are underway. He noted that the District Assembly received GHS 6 million from the Common Fund, earmarked for development projects.
District Chief Executive, Mr. Alfred Eklu Odikro, appreciated the government’s timely release of funds, which facilitated the completion of projects like the Ziope Senior High School dining hall and new constructions such as school blocks in Adzorvi and Takuve.
The Konor of the Agortime Traditional Area, Nene Nuer Keteku IV, praised the President for fulfilling key infrastructure promises, including the Ho-Aflao road project through Agortime-Ziope. He also reminded the National Chairman of the community’s request for a College of Education, a commitment made by the President during his campaign.
