Assembly Member of Aborlove-Nolopi Calls for Urgent Road Repairs in Keta Municipality

Aborlove-nolopi: Mr. Simon Yaw Awadzi, the Assembly Member for the Aborlove-Nolopi Electoral Area in Keta Municipality, Volta Region, has urgently appealed to the government to address the deteriorating road conditions in his community. Highlighting the risks posed to motorists and other road users, Mr. Awadzi emphasized the need for immediate action to prevent potential dangers, especially during rainy seasons when the roads become particularly hazardous. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Awadzi expressed his concerns during an interview, pointing out several critical areas including Afife Junction, Kpategbe, Aborlove, Nolopi, Kpekakope, and Anyako that require immediate attention. He voiced his frustration over the ongoing issues despite the recent launch of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP), which was intended to enhance road infrastructure across various districts. Mr. Awadzi criticized the slow pace of the road construction projects and the politicization of the use of construction machine ry. He recalled a statement from Mr. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, promising the provision of essential materials and funding to aid districts in road construction. Yet, the assembly member lamented the lack of visible progress in his electoral area. Furthermore, Mr. Awadzi appealed directly to Mr. Emmanuel Gemegah, the Municipal Chief Executive of Keta, urging him to expedite the release of machinery for road work in the area and to keep the community informed about the project statuses transparently. He also encouraged the public to demand better infrastructure management from their local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. The Ghana News Agency also noted that the Keta Municipal Assembly had recently recommenced the DRIP programs at Vodza, marking a renewed effort to tackle the road issues in other parts of the municipality.
