Assin North: Mr Sylvester Amakye, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin North District in the Central Region, has laid down a roadmap for the development of the district. The plans include initiatives in education, health, road infrastructure, and employable skills programmes.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Amakye highlighted education as a priority. He plans to collaborate with local chiefs and elders to address the furniture deficit in schools. Additionally, efforts will be made to enhance infrastructural development and provide teaching and learning materials to improve academic performance.
In the health sector, the DCE revealed intentions to deploy qualified health professionals to various health centres and upgrade existing facilities to meet standards. He encouraged community leaders to support health professionals in overcoming challenges, especially when resources are limited.
To tackle unemployment, Mr Amakye announced skills acquisition programmes aimed at empowering the youth and women, thereby boosting the local economy. Improvements in the road infrastructure are also on the agenda, with assurances that initiatives to benefit the community will be welcomed.
Mr Amakye has pledged to collaborate with all stakeholders for the district's growth.
