Associative projects to bring women out of the shadow

Tunisian associations presented on Wednesday in Tunis, various projects to strengthen women’s rights, considered as essential vectors of peace and security in Tunisia.

These proposals are part of the “SELIMA project” launched in 2016 by the Tunisian Association of Management and Social Stability (TAMSS), with the support of the United Nations Program (UN Women) and the Government of the Republic of Finland.

Seven associations were selected, trained and coached, said Habib Kachouri, coordinator of the “SELIMA project”.

These are the Tunisian Family Support Association “Yessrine”, INNOPeace (Innovators for Peace), AfrimaLife BPW Tunisia, the Union of Tunisian Independents for Freedom, El Mourouj, Irtikaa (Development), and the Tunisian League for the political rights of women.

SELIMA aims to promote the participation of women in building and keeping peace and security in Tunisia, in accordance with the recommendations of the associations and the strategic directions of the UN Security Council.
