Tunisian athlete Atef Saad (Military Sports Association of Tunis) on Monday won Foulées du Megara Half Marathon. The event was organised by Megara Association for Youth and the Marsa municipality, in collaboration with the Tunisian Athletics Federation.
This is the 5th edition won by Saad who covered 21km in 1:03.57, breaking the record held by former runner of the national team Wissem Hosni.
Women’s title went to Tunisian Mahbouba BelKaceum (National Guard) after clocking 1:24.16. Heifa Tarchoune and Maissa Kadri took the second and third spots, respectively, after clocking 1:24.50 and 1:28.45 times.
The 2023 edition saw the participation of 3,800 athletes from 20 European, Asian and African countries.
