The organising committee of the Arab Athletics Championship, to be held from June 16 to 20 in Tunis, has announced the participation of 400 athletes from 20 countries.
At a press conference held Monday in Tunis and attended by Secretary-General of the Arab Athletics Union Abddallah Eddini, the organising committee announced that this 22nd edition qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics is an opportunity to show Tunisia’s ability to organise big sporting events.
President of the Tunisian Athletics Federation Khaled Amara said this edition will be attended by over 430 athletes, stating that Tunisia has a fairly good experience in organising such events.
Tunisia has organised 15 events so far and has always met athletes’ expectations, the Secretary-General of the UAA pointed out.
Tunisia had organised the Arab Athletics Championship three times (1981, 2005 and 2017).
