Attempt to smuggle 300 thousand narcotics pills, thwarted (Customs)

An attempt to smuggle 300 thousand narcotics pills, worth 3 million dinars, was foiled Thursday, by the Remada Customs Guard (governorate of Tataouine), according to a Tunisian Customs Directorate General press release.
The latter said that this quantity of drugs was on board a four-wheel drive car.
The vehicle was intercepted following a chase near the Tunisian-Algerian border.
The patrol officers ordered the driver of the vehicle to stop. The driver refused to comply and the customs brigade set off in pursuit of the vehicle in question, which subsequently became stuck in the sand. The quantity of narcotics was discovered during a search of the vehicle.
