Ayishatu Aminu Leads Strong Start to 2025 Golf Season with Latex Foam Victory


Kumasi: Ayishatu Aminu, lead ambassador for the Captain One Golf Society’s kids project, began her 2025 golf season with an impressive performance by winning the 2025 Latex Foam Monthly Medal at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi. The young golfer, recognized as the 2024 SWAG Discovery of the Year, showcased her skills by topping the ladies’ category with a gross score of 66, outplaying several senior golfers.



According to Ghana News Agency, the competition saw Samira Abdullah and Vivian Dick securing the second and third positions with gross scores of 70 and 74, respectively. Fadilatu Adam, another promising golfer from the Captain One Kids project, finished fourth with a gross score of 74, while Jennifer Satura and Zakia Hudu, also beneficiaries of the project, completed the tournament in sixth and eighth places with scores of 85 and 90, respectively.



Mr. Yaw Barima Okyere, head coach of the Captain One Golf Society’s kids project in Kumasi, expressed his excitement about the girls’ performances. He emphasized their goal for the year, which is to maintain a succession plan for Ayishatu, ensuring that other girls with potential also reach the top.



Ayishatu Aminu expressed her gratitude to her coach for his training and support, as well as to SWAG for the prestigious recognition. She affirmed her commitment to being a worthy ambassador for the award, hoping to inspire other girls in the project across different regions.



The Captain One Golf Society’s Kids Project is dedicated to nurturing young golf talents, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, by offering free training and opportunities in communities near golf courses throughout Ghana.
