Baccalaureate results see improvement compared to previous year (minister)

Minister of Education Fathi Slaouti said Thursday the Baccalaureate results have recorded an improvement compared to the previous year despite the special health situation.

He was speaking at a virtual meeting with Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi to inform him of the results that will be announced Friday and the conditions under which the main session of the baccalaureate exam was held.

The school year 2020/2021 was exceptional and difficult but the Ministry of Education has managed to overcome the various difficulties, Slaouti pointed out.

According to a Prime Ministry statement, the Education Minister recalled that cases of fraud have dropped compared to the previous year and this session saw an estimated increase by 12,500 students compared to last year.

The Ministry has mobilised 170,000 staffers to ensure the smooth running of this national exam, he said.

The Prime Minister welcomed the keenness of the various stakeholders to promote conditions needed for the success of these national exams.
