Defending champions US Monastir suffered their first defeat in the African Basketball League, Sahara Conference, after losing to Abidjan Basket Club of Côte d’Ivoire (74-90) at a day-3 game played Friday at the Dakar Arena in Senegal on Friday.
In the other game, AS Douanes (Senegal) will face Stade Malien (Mali) at 20:30.
At the end of this match, US Monastir, who won their first two games against Stade Malien (78-68) and Kwara Falcons of Nigeria (85-75), are third behind Rwanda Energy Group (3 wins) and Abidjan Basket Club (2 wins and 1 loss).
Stade Malien (1 win, 1 loss) are fourth, ahead of Kwara Falcons (3 losses) and AS Douanes (2 losses).
The Tunisians will face Rwanda Energy Group on Monday at 20:30, before taking on AS Douanes at the same time on Tuesday.
Top four finishers will represent the Sahara Conference at the BAL finals, which will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, next May.
