Defending champions, US Monastir, defeated Nigeria’s Kwara Falcons 85-75 at a Basketball Africa League (BAL) Sahara Conference group day-2 game played on Wednesday at the Dakar Arena in Senegal.
The other game of the day will pit later in the vening Rwanda Energy Group against AS Douanes of Senegal.
The 3rd edition of the Sahara Conference of the African Basketball League continues in Dakar until March 21. The 6 clubs in the competition are US Monastir (Tunisia), AS Douanes (Senegal), Abidjan Basket Club Fighters (Côte d’Ivoire), Rwanda Energy Group (Rwanda), Kwara Falcons (Nigeria) and Stade Malien (Mali).
The Tunisians, who beat Stade Malien 78-68 at the opening day, will face Abidjan Fighters on Friday (17:00) before meeting Rwanda Energy Group on Monday (20:30) and AS Douanes on Tuesday (20:30).
The top four finishers will represent the Sahara Conference at the final BAL tournament in Kigali, Rwanda, in May.
