One person died of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours in the governorate of Ben Arous, bringing to 488 the total number of victims of the pandemic in the region, according to the latest statistics provided, Friday, by the Regional Committee for the Fight against Coronavirus.
Moreover, 157 new cases of infection by the virus have been discovered following the publication of the results of 287 laboratory tests, which brings to 14,697 the number of positive cases in the region since the spread of the epidemic.
Among these infected patients, 51 are currently admitted to the Regional Hospital El Yasminet of Ben Arous, including 14 in the emergency department, 27 in internal medicine and 10 in intensive care.
On the other hand, 34 patients have recovered from the infection in the governorate where the number of cured people has reached 14,009 cases, according to the same source.
