Beni Mehira will become delegation, Chahed announces in first stop on Tataouine visit

The community of Beni Mehira, which is administratively part of Smar, will become a delegation, Premier Youssef Chahed Thursday announced in a first stop on a Tataouine visit.

He also told locals “the National Unity Government is determined to lend them further support given the challenging development conditions in the region.”

The visit is taking place at a time when a general strike is staged to protest against unemployment and demand that the government show a real commitment to improve living conditions.

The PM is accompanied by a delegation made up of ministers and secretaries of state, including Minister of Industry and Trade Ziad Laadhari, Vocational Training and Employment Minister Imed Hammami, Minister of Energy, Mining and Renewable Energy Hela Cheikhrouhou and Social Affairs Minister Mohamed Trabelsi.
