Béni Mtir, Jendouba, features presently on the list of tourist municipalities in Tunisia in a move which paves the way for it to become an ecotourism destination.
The announcement was made on Friday during a working session chaired by Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Mohamed Moez Belhassine in the governorate.
Action will focus on enhancing the value of natural sites and historical monuments in Béni Mtir.
The municipality, Belhassine said, can now get the financial support of the Fund for the Protection of Tourist Areas to improve its tourism product.
