Between 80 and 100 COVID-19 patients are admitted to hospitals every day (Jalila Ben Khelil)

Between 80 and 100 patients with the coronavirus are admitted to hospitals per day, Jalila Ben Khelil, spokesperson for the scientific committee to combat the coronavirus said Thursday.
She said in a statement to TAP that the average number of positive cases is increasing rapidly, warning of saturation in hospitals and high pressure on the general health system.
This alarming increase in the rate of coronavirus infection is the result of lack of compliance with preventive measures and the slowdown recorded in the vaccination campaign launched on March 13, Ben Khelil pointed out.
The slowdown of the vaccination campaign is due to the lack of quantities of vaccines, she said. The improvement of the epidemic situation is dependent on the application of health protocols, said Ben Khelil, recalling that Tunisia has taken the various possible measures to contain the pandemic like other countries in the world.
It is necessary to limit gatherings and postpone wedding parties, added the same source, recalling the need to wear masks and respect physical distancing.
