The Regional Committee for the Fight against Natural Disasters in the governorate of Bizerte has decided to shift to targeted lockdown across all delegations, from Tuesday, July 13.
This decision follows the enforcement of a five-day full lockdown (from July 8 to 12, 2021).
In this regard, the governor of Bizerte stressed that the provisions of the targeted lockdown and the curfew will be strictly applied, recalling that travel to and from the governorate of Bizerte will always be banned.
According to the same source, the preventive measures concern, in particular, the closing of hypermarkets at 7 pm, the banning of public and private ceremonies, the banning of camping in the whole governorate, the stopping of sports and cultural events and the suspension of weekly markets until July 21.
These measures also include limiting the operation of sports halls and Hammams to 30% of their maximum capacity, in addition to the immediate closure of factories with a high number of cases of infection.
For his part, Regional Health Director Jamel Eddine Saidani described as “serious and critical” the epidemiological situation in the region, where the rate of positive tests has reached 35% while the cumulative average of the incidence of the virus has reached 737 cases of infection per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Moreover, oxygen beds available in the region are 82% occupied, the official said.
