Bono Police Command Interdicts Three Officers for Alleged Corruption

Sunyani: The Bono Regional Police Command has announced the interdiction of three officers accused of collecting money from motorists at Sampa in the Jaman North District of the Region.

According to Ghana News Agency, the action follows the emergence of a viral video purportedly showing the officers engaging in the illegal activity. Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the Police Administration, confirmed the interdiction in a statement. The statement, shared with the Ghana News Agency, noted that the names of the officers have been withheld as investigations proceed. The command has assured the public of a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.

The command emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability. The ongoing investigations are being handled through the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) using the police's internal disciplinary procedures. The statement also encouraged the public to report any instances of alleged misconduct by police personnel to the command.
