Prime Minister Najla Bouden stressed at a meeting with Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Noureddine Taboubi Tuesday the key role of the labour organisation in fostering a social climate to initiate the needed reforms expected by the Tunisians.
Bouden congratulated the UGTT Secretary-General on his re-election as head of the general labour union, as she welcomed the presence of two women in the new executive board, said a statement of the Prime Ministry.
She also called enhancing the presence of women in the various decision-making positions.
For his part, the UGTT Secretary-General said that the labour organisation will study after the end of the congress all the issues related to the social and economic situation in the country. The UGTT is open to reforms which, according to him, “must be fair and equitable for all social groups.”
At the end of this meeting, Taboubi told the media “our country needs a burst of national solidarity and a real and sincere will that prioritises the supreme interest of the Tunisian people.”
“We have no fear for Tunisia and the future will be better,” he said.
