Bus carrying Algerian fans attacked in Ezzouhour neighbourhood (Interior Ministry)

Seventeen people, including 4 minors, involved in throwing stones at an Algerian bus in Ezzouhour neighbourhood in Tunis, were placed in custody by security forces on Tuesday after co-ordination with the Public Prosecutor.

Investigations are still on to identify all attackers and to bring them to justice, an Interior Ministry press release reads.

Two buses carrying a group of Algerian fans, who had attended a game pitting their team against a Libyan team in Sfax, were attacked on Monday night in Ezzouhour neighbourhood in Tunis, as passengers of one of the buses attempted to save a woman from being robbed.

The Interior Ministry reported material damage and an injury suffered by the driver who was stabbed in the neck with a glass bottle. His health condition is now stable after having received necessary treatment, it said.
