Cabinet reshuffle needed but should not disrupt anti-corruption drive, says Republican Party SG

There is need for a reshuffle to support the cabinet team and improve its performance, Secretary-General of the Republican Party (Al Joumhouri) Issam Chebbi Sunday told TAP.

The shake-up should by no means disrupt the government’s anti-corruption drive or sabotage the concept of the national unity government.

The Executive Bureau of the party underlined the need, as it met Thursday, to appoint ministers of education and finance as soon as possible. It also suggested that under-performing ministers be replaced to breathe a new life into the government’s action and secure the implementation of Carthage Document.

The SG also said his party is fully supportive of the Government of National Unity and committed to the principles at the core of Carthage agreement.
