Esperance Sportive de Tunis secured an away-1-1-draw against Algeria’s CR Belouizdad at a CAF Champions League Group C day-2 game played on Saturday evening in Algiers.

The home side opened the scoring with a 15th-minute penalty from Karim Aribi before Zied Machmoum put the two teams level in the 82nd minute.

The second match of the group between the other Tunisian team in the competition, Etoile Sportive du Sahel and their Botswana hosts Jwaneng Galaxy also ended in a 1-1 draw

With this precious draw, Esperance maintain their group leadership with 4 points, ahead of CR Belouizdad and Etoile du Sahel (2 points each), while Jwaneng Galaxy are fourth with a single point.

Esperance will play at day 3 their compatriots Etoile Sahel at the Rades stadium next Saturday (2 pm), while Algeria’s CR Belouizdad will travel to Botswana to face Jwaneng Galaxy (5 pm).
