Caid Essebsi, FM discuss upcoming diplomatic events

President Beji Caid Essebsi met Tuesday at Carthage Palace with Foreign Minister KhemaA�es Jhinaoui.

The meeting focused on the upcoming diplomatic events, particularly Wednesday’s visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Tunisia, besides the results of Tunisia’s participation in various regional and international meetings, the Presidency said in a press release.

The Foreign Minister was quoted as saying the meeting reviewed Tunisia’s participation in the 30th Ordinary Session of the African Union that took place in Addis Ababa on January 28 and 29, 2018 on the theme: Win the fight against corruption: a sustainable path for the transformation of Africa.

It also focused on Tunisia’s participation in the 48th World Economic Forum annual meeting held on January 23-26 in Davos, Switzerland on “Building a common future in a fractured world”.

Moreover, Jhinaoui said he had presented an overview to the Head of State on the 14th Conference of Foreign Ministers of the 5 + 5 Dialogue, recently held in Algiers under the theme:Western Mediterranean: promoting an economic, social and inclusive development, shared and sustainable, faced with the common challenges of the region.

During this meeting, emphasis was placed on the next diplomatic events, especially the visit French President Emmanuel Macron will make to Tunisia on January 31 and February 1.
