Caid Essebsi meets with Jean-Pierre Raffarin

President Beji Caid Essebsi received Friday former Prime Minister and President of the Foreign Affairs, Defence, Armed Froces commissions at the French Senate Jean-Pierre Raffarin.

Raffarin is in Tunisia to take part in works of the Tunisian-Chinese Partnership Forum.

Quoted as saying in a Presidency of the Republic press release, he asserted to the Head of State France’s consideration for the success achieved by Tunisia on the path of democratic transition and fight against terrorism and for its firm will to revive its economy and promote youths’ employment.

The meeting had according to him, offered the opportunity to review the broad prospects offered to bilateral co-operation in several fields, which testifies to the depth of friendship relations binding the two countries.

Besides, Raffarin reaffirmed the willingness of France and the European Union to implement new co-operation programmes to consolidate bilateral and multipartite co-operation between Africa, Europe and China.
