Caid Essebsi meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs

President Beji Caid Essebsi met, Thursday at Carthage Palace, with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khemaies Jhinaoui.

The talk focused on the forthcoming meeting of the Tunisia-European Union Association Council scheduled for 15 May in Brussels, the Minister was quoted as saying in a Presidency press release.

The Council will be co-chaired by Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Khemaies Jhinaoui.

Works will be attended by the Foreign Ministers of the European Union Member States.

The Tunisia-EU Association Council meeting will set priorities for economic co-operation and will deal with ways to strengthen the strategic relations between Tunisia and the EU, including youth programmes.

The meeting also reviewed the situation in Libya. A tripartite meeting of Foreign Ministers from neighbouring countries of Libya will be held in Algiers on May 21.
